Cerebral Palsy Diagnosis and Assessment 1. We will diagnose if your child is suffering from cerebral palsy, or whether his/her symptoms are due to another disease.   2. We will find out which type of cerebral palsy your child is having and whether there is any cause for the problem. 3. Some children with cerebral palsy may have other problems like vision, hearing, learning ability, attention, epilepsy, swallowing, etc . They may need multi-disciplinary assessment, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, clinical psychology, orthopaedics, ENT etc input to modify the rehabilitation plan.

Therapy and Training

We will set up clear and appropriate goals with you and your child. We encourage you and your family to actively participate in your child's rehabilitation plan . Our professionals will help you and your child to generalize what is learned in the training session to your daily life. We use subjective and objective measurement tools to evaluate your child's progress.

Besides the usual goal-targeted therapy training, our centre also provide or refer your child to receive the following service:

i) Management of spasticity

• physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy
• botulinium toxin injection (botox, dysport)
• intrathecal baclofen infusion (ITB)
• multi-level orthopaedic surgery
• selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR)

ii) Management of drooling

• training (speech therapy)
• surgery
• botulinium toxin injection
• medication (oral glycopyrolate, scopolamine patch)
